Elliott Claims Seventh Troytown Title with Stuzzikini's Win

Gordon Elliott has once again showcased his skill in the Bar One Racing Troytown Handicap Chase, achieving his seventh win in this esteemed race, this time with Stuzzikini. Although he faced a setback earlier in the day with American Mike, Elliott's keen judgment of talent proved fruitful as Stuzzikini put on an exhilarating display under Gavin Brouder, securing a commanding victory.

Elliott had a strong presence in the race with nine horses competing in the 18-runner field, but it was Brouder riding Stuzzikini who truly captured the spotlight. Earlier, Jack Kennedy appeared poised to make a decisive move on American Mike as the horse surged to the front with four to go. Unfortunately, as the race unfolded, his challenge dwindled, causing him to drop back and lose his position in contention.

At the same time, Stuzzikini (20-1) was making an impressive charge toward victory. As the horses neared the last jump, the eight-year-old gelding, under Elliott's guidance, pulled ahead decisively, leaving Lucid Dreams and Yeah Man behind by four and 15 lengths, respectively.

Elliott couldn't contain his happiness following the race, providing a concise yet insightful commentary on his horse's triumph. 'Fantastic! I mentioned him on television yesterday and said he had a chance,' Elliott remarked. 'I always felt he was a horse that would hold back a bit, somewhat of a character at times. But today, he really pushed himself, and Gavin gave him an excellent ride.' Elliott also recognized the absence of Danny Gilligan, who was out due to a fall. Brouder, filling in for the injured jockey, certainly seized the moment, further enhancing his reputation.
