Anshoda Poised for Breeders' Cup Glory After Impressive Prestige Stakes Win

Exciting filly impressed in victory at Goodwood.

Anshoda, the rising star from David Loughnane's stable, could make a direct journey to Del Mar for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf following her stunning victory in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood. The daughter of Inns Of Court has quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with, having impressed on her debut at Lingfield and then confirming her potential with a strong second-place finish in Sandown's Star Stakes. Her latest triumph at Goodwood has set the stage for an exciting international campaign.

Now owned by Team Valor LLC and Gary Barber, Anshoda is gearing up for a Stateside adventure in early November. However, before making the trip to California, she may take part in a racecourse gallop, given the tricky timing of her upcoming race options in Britain.

Barry Irwin, CEO of Team Valor International, expressed his excitement about Anshoda's future, particularly her upcoming participation in the Breeders' Cup. "It was a very nice performance, no doubt about it. We're going to bring her to the Breeders' Cup, that's for sure, then after that, we will send her back to England," Irwin confirmed.

While Irwin and the ownership team are eager to see Anshoda compete on the international stage, the decision on whether she will run before the Breeders' Cup is still up in the air. Anshoda is entered in two British races: the Rockfel Stakes on September 27 and the Fillies' Mile on October 11. However, the proximity of these dates to her recent Goodwood race and the Breeders' Cup presents scheduling challenges.

"David thinks the Rockfel is too soon after Goodwood, while the Fillies' Mile is too close to the Breeders' Cup," Irwin explained. "So he might just pick a racecourse and do an afternoon gallop there and head to California like that."

Anshoda's journey to Team Valor and Gary Barber came at a personal cost to Irwin, who sacrificed a long-planned family trip to secure the promising filly. Irwin recalled the decision-making process, which culminated in him cancelling his vacation to finalize the deal. "It was a pain and hard work to get the deal done, but it was worth it in the end. Goodwood ended up being a wonderful day for us, and we hope to have some more," he shared.

As Anshoda prepares for her potential Breeders' Cup run, her connections are confident that this talented filly has the makings of a future champion, with more memorable victories on the horizon.
